This one was the Fork's idea. It grew out of an idea I had to take the set of extremely cheap forks I had bought for photography and put them and a couple of wooden forks with him, radiating out from a center. The idea being that the difference in forks would stand out. Well, the wooden forks were very obviously different, but our Fork didn't look different enough from the cheap ones to suit. Then the Fork got the idea to use the set of cheap spoons instead. Eureka -- sort of. The "radiating from a center" design was kind of blah. And it took up a lot of space. I asked what he thought of scrunching up together and got an immediate and resounding "Let's do it!" from all of them.
Once they were laid out on the top of a brown ottoman, I carried them carefully outside to make use of better light and avoid the reflection of ceiling fan above. In color, these reflections are more obviously leaves of trees above, and a bit of the house at the bottom, I notice now. I suppose I could have carried them all around and into the schoolyard in the next block, looking for a place where there would be nothing reflected.
Hmmm....that didn't occur to me then. I may try that later, if they are all game to do another photo shoot. I suspect the Fork likes this as it makes him feel he is surrounded by a harem of adoring spoons. It's not my favorite shot of the week, but a.) it's taken with the DSLR, b.) it was done with a lot more care than the junk drawer pic, and c.) I promised him one of the postings would be his idea.
I noticed the reflection immediately and was impressed with your industriousness to set the shot up out of doors. I quite like this one of him and the bevy!
