This is the interior of the little church of St Mary, East Guldeford on Romney Marsh. It is quite plain but has a beautiful and unusual frieze of seraphim, each holding a globe with a picture depicting the Creation. There are box pews to either side of the aisle, and a double decker pulpit. The aisle is extraordinarily wide, to allow farm carts to transport coffins to funerals. St Mary's is one of the churches supported by the Romney Marsh Historic Churches Trust, and is very well maintained.
