@jo131186 Thank you. I really am so very new and inexperienced. I didn't pick up a camera until about this time last year. I upgraded to the 600d with the basic kit lens and then wanted to progress. It seems that I favour 'up and personal' but living in the Lake District with its views and wildlife I couldnt decide which type of lens to purchase (budget and common sense). Circumstances allowed both but the macro is by far my favoured weapon of choice. I opted for the IS version but am still very much a novice and don't understand the whys and wherefores. I love your work and wish I could be more technically informed for you.
