Winter does not exist here, but it doesn't stop me from getting J a winter hat and coat!
J: You're kidding me. It's so hot and humid today!
Me: But you'll look great in these.
J: Get Crazy Ed to model for you.
Crazy Ed: I'm too sexy for chunky hats and coats, baby.
G: Best not to argue with Ed.
Crazy Ed: How about doing a nude shot together?
J: *pulls on coat and hat*
Me: So... we're not doing anything with Crazy Ed today?
G: *chuckles*
G, J and Crazy Ed are all my BJD boys. You can check past photographs of them in my album. (And yes, I'm crazy and have long, meaningful conversations with my dolls.)
BJDs are ball-jointed dolls made of polyurethane resin, handcast and handstrung. They are anatomically correct, highly posable and customizable. My boys are 60cm tall. (About 2 feet.)
Amazing, Livia. These could be photos of real life models for some high-end designer. Your creativity is amazing. Love the beautiful lighting and position of each photo.
While the jury is still out on whether I accept the dolls or not, I do really dig the photography and I feel compelled to check out these shots whenever they appear in my feed. I am spellbound, yet there's these oddity that I cannot put my finger on....
I`m told they do the winter cloths photo shoots always in summer.
Love you dolls , Are they real boys / with everything on it ? My wife wonders.Great collage with the different views
Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to stop by and leave a comment. I am grateful. Thank you!
@sdpace Oh wow, you're right, they both have similar hair and eye colors! Very cool! Too poor to pay royalties... do you want a slightly used brain? 8D
@karenann Karen, are we seeing the same pictures? *LOL* I wish I was but I'm nowhere near producing photographs of that level of quality. Heh. I really do appreciate that you're so supportive. Thank you so much!
@myautofocuslife - nah was never a fan of chucky... ugly doll that it was. I do like with the BJDs that while they are high quality in appearance and construction, they are not hyper-realistic. Those dolls/babies that are lifelike are freaky shit.
@bobfoto My boys are definitely not realistic. No one has eyes of those proportions. All my boys also come from the same Japanese company (Volks) and their BJDs have a style that is reminiscent of anime or manga. I don't have a link handy but I do recall seeing BJDs that looked real, not just in terms of construction but also in having realistic faceups and body blushing. Oh, those dolls that look exactly like sleeping babies? I've seen them online. I find them a little scary. o_O (I grew up watching too many Asian horror movies featuring black magic that involved foetuses and babies. Aaaah.)
@myautofocuslife - I can imagine. I'm a fan of anime and I think I am coming around more to your way of thinking. You still got 321 photos to have me convinced eh?
you will be surprised that there are some real people who look like dolls or cartoon characters. i know of one young lady who looks like one of the 'precious moments' character, with her eyes too large for her shape of face. she's very pretty though. i don't like dolls that look so real either. i never played with dolls, was never interested in them. but i like looking at pretty things, like your dolls. and you're funny, too!
Tell J that chunky hats are always in style when you're awesome. :)

@peterdegraaff I loved Starsky and Hutch! 8D
@bobfoto Does he bear an uncanny resemblance to Chucky? Heh. Let me know when you discover what that oddity is. I'm all ears!
@pyrrhula Yes, they are real boys with everything. BJDs have anatomically correct bodies.
@jahu2 I have 5 of these dolls. They all get changes of outfits every now and then. It's fun to give them different looks.
Again, everyone, thank you very much!
but very handsome.
