I was at the Botanic Gardens yesterday with my new camera and macro lens and I made a beeline for the orchids. Last night, I looked at the photos and discarded most of them. I did so much head-shaking, I thought I was going to be nauseous. This is one of those shots that had me wondering though. I can't decide if it's good or bad. I think it's mostly bad but, maybe, it's bad in a good way? 8D
Before I forget, I want to say, thank you, to all of you. I'm kind of shocked/grateful/shocked/happy/shocked/elated//shocked at the response to the snap I posted yesterday. Thank you. Thank you very much!
This one's good . . REALLY good. Beautiful color and even a velvety texture. Love the water drops. I haven't tried a macro with my camera yet. Too scared. :)
Oh my! I see so much in it! There's a little guy with a sort of yellow heart for a head in a sitting position... then that head becomes the nose for a purple rabbit with long ears... then deep purple dreams... This is beautiful, Livia! I see so much in it and none - bad!
So pretty! I loved yesterdays flower too! I love flowers. I always tell my husband I want to move to Hawaii and take pics of flowers. Only problem is, I don't think it would pay the bills. Oh well.
haha i think it looks like a monster racing toward me ,with two eyes ,a nose, and an unusual mouth ready to eat whatever is in it's way, LOL, i love the colour of the orchid anyway,
Perhaps you have the impression it's not good due to the very shallow DOF, to which you were not used with your other camera? Just a thought... I think it's good!!
I see a distorted kind of face (big) and it looks like a baby in there too (the heart shape being the head with the arms and legs below) I like the colour and LOVE the drops of water! :)
Beautiful shot ...
My daughter Carmellia (display name... Carmellia has )Just started her project it would be great if you could go and comment on her pic just to get her started,Thanks H.
IT is a lovely macro to me but it needed the "curve" to lessen the light. If U think this is not lovely, maybe next time shoot your flowers or orchid on side direction with less light. Your photo now has high ISO.
Oh fun! My husband took a picture of this same flower at our local Botanic Gardens. It's on our photo blog site. www.clickitimages.blogspot.com. It's from March of 2011 so you have to look in the "older posts" or the "archives" (scroll down to the bottom). It's called "Face Within". Love your shot. It's straight on!
When you get to close you alienated often from the object to see But sometimes , like this pic , you get a great abstract instead. And that`s a pro. Sometimes you need luck or a great experience. ( I do often a lot op pic and select the best ,or no one )
Thank you for stopping by. Thank you for taking the time to write a comment. Thank you for telling me what you see and think! I had a great time reading everyone's reaction. You guys are so generous with your opinions and support, and I am very, very grateful.
