A. J. Kitt: "You have no control over what the other guy does. You only have control over what you do."
I told Mr Bottle how I wanted to make this shot to illustrate the quote. I said, are you okay with this, because you'll have no control over what I do and I'll have to hold you by the pliers very tightly to make it look like you're being dragged away. Mr Bottle thought about it and said, in all seriousness, I still have control, because I will not panic.
Photo was taken by holding the pliers in my left hand and the camera in my right.
@jenirainbow "Photography with a moral"!? Ack, that sounds like I'm judging, preaching or teaching! I am not remotely qualified to do any of those things since, to quote Alexander Woolcott, everything I want is either illegal, immoral or fattening! 8D
@myautofocuslife - Oh dear, I didn't feel i'd phrased it quite right at the time! It was more the philosophy thing I was meaning. I really struggle to remember that I have control over my own actions but not over the actions of others and you put it so beautifully, with a simple, lovely illustration. I wish I could have your words and photo on a t-shirt or something, to remind me. Same for yesterday's.

Lovely shot!

Take my personal philosophy: if you cannot be a good example, be a spectacular warning.
Mr Bottle has a way of drawing you into his adventure! I love this concept, both on a photographic level as well as an educational one, I love his wisdom!
Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to stop by and write a comment. Your feedback is a source of great encouragement for me. I deeply appreciate your thoughtfulness. Thank you very much!
My fav thing about this shot is the light & shadow at the bottom of the bottle.
