Isn't the craftsmanship absolutely fabulous? I love the details! So intricate, so colorful. You can also see that everything's a little weather-beaten. The paint is peeling and the colors are fading. But it is still an amazing sight to behold.
PS. Can you see the magnified version? I have never been able to see the bigger version of my own photographs, as weird as that sounds. I know why the EXIF info on my shots can't be seen (because my 12-year-old Paint Shop Pro, which I use for editing, eats EXIF info for breakfast, lunch and dinner) but I don't understand why I can't view the larger version of my own photos. While I can see most 365ers' larger versions, again, there are some I cannot see. Is it a matter of browser? But that doesn't explain the seeming randomness. I've searched the forum for answers but there appears to be none. Very odd thing. (Almost as odd as my on-off craving for a bowl of corn flakes and cold milk in the middle of the night.) 8D
Wonderful, Livia - beautiful colors and great detail. I looked at the EXIF info of your picture and it is very small! If you compare it to the EXIF of a picture where the larger version works you will see the difference (my files are rather large for instance). Is your original file of the same size?
This is a stunning shot, so much detail Livia, would love to see this proper. On the view large I can only ever see about half of a shot, I never get the full shot, no idea why!
Livia, when I click on the magnify button, it is the same size as your post. ??? Not sure what to tell ya about that. Can you check your size settings in Paint Shop to see if it's at maximum size? This is a beautiful close up shot! I do love the details and the colors! Very well done, gal!
Beautiful ornate work here and I love the colors. Are these all lit up at night . . must be gorgeous if they are. I cannot magnify your photo either, but still your shot has such clarity that it looks fabulous.
you are right, the craftsmanship is amazing! This is just gorgeous! oh......and this is what I love about 365. I will most likely never see these in person, but i've been given the opportunity to see them through your camera:)
@equinoxe@marlboromaam Thank you for your time! The size of the photo you see on this page is 551 x 372. The size of the file I had uploaded is 979 x 663. So it really should display the bigger size when one clicks on the magnifying glass icon. I think. No? Apparently, the larger sized graphic is not displaying for anyone. *LOL* Do I have to upload a file that is at least 2000 or 3000 pixels wide for it to display at a larger size? I really have no idea. And it seems there are some 365ers who have never been able to see anyone's photos in magnified mode. It's a total mystery! 8D
@maggotx I'm afraid I am not familiar with Hinduism, so Google will actually be more helpful than me if you'd like to learn more about the symbolism of the religious artwork. Very sorry about this.
@marieooi The scariest statues in Singapore must be the ones in the Ten Courts of Hell at the Haw Par Villa. They scared every single kid who saw them, including me. They are very graphic and violent and gory. I was there recently, after not visiting the place for some 30-40 years, I thought I'd take some photos for my 365 project. But, looking at what I have shot, I think they are still too gory to post. 8P
Thisy is Unbelievably Awesome!!! It amazes me what Artist's can do with stone and metal...i bet that is hard and tedious work...yet the outcome must be so rewarding! This is a FAV!
oh wow, this is so beautiful, the detail is amazing!! Fave for me! This doesn't appear large for me, it just keeps the same size! but it does look great against the black background:)
Wow, what beautiful detail and colors, Livia. I did not know that you can enlarge photos more than from the small to large, to a larger version, or is this it after viewing small as I rarely do. Beautiful shot, Livia.
gorgeous! I can see it with the magnifier, though it is the same size as this, only on a black background. I wonder why you cannot see this? Do you use Google Chrome? BTW, now I'm craving corn flakes and ice cold milk at 5:35 p.m.
The details are absolutely stunning!!! As to your question, I upload at 800 by 500, there abouts. When enlarged, it stays the same size on a black background. (I upload small so it won't be swiped, I sell photos online) I have experimented, and found that when I upload in the range of 1100 on the longest side, it comes out large when enlarged.
A great, big, colorful, absolutely magnified "THANK YOU!" to all!
I know everyone's busy, I appreciate that you've taken some time to stop by and leave a comment. Thank you so much. I am grateful for the feedback and support!
I am also laughing that the statue in the middle has love handles. ;-D
Awesome capture.
