It's just a spoon on a piece of colorful paper. (Same paper I used for the shot that is my profile pic: http://365project.org/myautofocuslife/365/2012-01-01 ) This isn't something terribly new. Other 365ers have taken similar shots using a spoon and the reflection of different materials on it such as paper, wood, etc. It looked fun, so I thought I'd try it. You do need a really clean and shiny spoon if you want to get really close. Otherwise every little dust mote will show up!
This came out well. at first, I wondered if you cloned out the handle, but I see now that the handle is going away from us in the pic, therefore not visible. Very bright and pretty shot!
@cromwell Crom, I wish there was a way for me to follow your comments, as well as your pictures. - -you're always bringing something to the table. -- lol
Simple? No, I don't think so .. only you could make this so beautiful and perfect, Livia! It's perfection. Love the color, the placement, the pov, the simple lines and the "Livia touch of magic!"
Livia, this is so much fun! Great use of reflection in this photo! Congrats on your bat photo. It was marvelous. Sorry I'm a little slow at commenting this week. I am on holiday.
@myautofocuslife I am a little lost on this one, Livia as I thought that the handle would be to the side. Will try to do this one at home and see what you mean. So interesting and fascinating. Thank you for getting back to me.
Fun shot!! Your advise came too late for me! LOL!! Took a similiar shot a few weeks ago and loved the reflection but all the scratches on my beat-up spoon showed up!! Need to get a brand new one and try it again!!
