This is too funny! I mean, I could get all serious and zoological, but there bright red eyes just somehow push it into funny-zone. And btw, it's a great photo too!
A great, big, spontaneous, fun-filled, big-moment-type "THANK YOU!" to everyone! Jerry Seinfeld cracks me up. And I had fun shooting these flies although they weren't thrilled about it. Barely a minute later, when they've had enough of my presence, they flew off, still attached to each other.

@maggotx Not at all. They're just mating! Haha. It's Nature's way. There's very little to be embarrassed about. I've been to a strip club in Tokyo (I was just curious about what goes on in one after reading a book on the "water trade" in Japan) and I've enjoyed numerous visits to onsen (hot springs) where you have to strip and bathe naked in the company of strangers. After all that, what's two little flies getting it on? XD

You aren't a bug macro expert until you get some mating flies in your portfolio. haha Just kidding! This is great! Here was mine. they were so small I did not know I was shooting a pic of TWO flies. Much less that they were mating.
