"What's this hard, cold stuff?" by mzzhope

"What's this hard, cold stuff?"

"What happened to the water?" .When there is ice in the birdbath it is time to sleep bear! The little family of three that keeps visiting shows no signs of being tired!
Most people would not believe I live in New Jersey USA based on all the idiotic television shows. But this is the real NJ.The northern most part of the state. Here is a collage of my cabin and the surrounding environment I took awhile back: http://365project.org/mzzhope/365/2013-08-01
Wow, that is what I call close! Nice capture! We have them here too, but thankfully not right in my yard.

Wonderful bear capture! Love it!
November 26th, 2013
I was thinking the same thing as @ingrid2101 - there's a bear trying to get a drink of water from your bird bath! That's amazing! Look how his paws are up on the basin too!
November 26th, 2013
Nice shot.
November 26th, 2013

Have to agree with Ingrid! This 365 opens your eyes to so many wonderful things that others just see as "normal"! Unbelievable capture! Another beauty :-)

That is incredible! I love that you captured him checking out the bird bath.

November 26th, 2013
Great shot ! Pleasure to look through your project.
November 26th, 2013
So did you go out on your deck and yell at them like I did?! Great shot! She looks to be about the same size as the one in my backyard.
November 26th, 2013
Fantastic capture -- looks like you are in the wilderness!

@olivetreeann @traceyhn @archaeofrog @pcarlaw @cathrinemitch @featherstone @jacjacs68 @swilde @beckys @kchuk @kbird61 @ingrid2101 @linah Thanks all!I love it here.Love knowing there is enough wild space to sustain a bear population. If you are careful and meticulous about your trash disposal, they are rarely a bother.I would never intentionally entice them to come on the property, but I admit to being excited when they do! :)

@taffy I am Taffy! The last little tiny bit of it in the state.:(
November 26th, 2013

And I thought a fox in my garden was exotic!! Wow... That be a real bear!! Fabulous shot, what a great capture.
November 26th, 2013
What a wonderful sight to see in a back yard! I should be time for their nap. I haven't had a TV for close to 20 years, so your photos show me NJ and I like what I see.
November 26th, 2013
This is an awesome capture. The poor animal, though, needs water.
November 26th, 2013
@dmortega we live on a lake so he knows where he can get it.Just think he was having fun with the ice.:)
November 26th, 2013
Now I understand why you have such a heavy duty bird bath! I love seeing the wide variety of wildlife that is shared here on 365.

Our Koala's are boring compared to these characters! The most exciting thing they do is guttural growls in the dead of the night when they are feeling frisky!
November 26th, 2013
@quixoticneophyte oh how awesome it would be to be able to see Koalas!I would never expect them to make guttural growls.lol.
November 26th, 2013
@bill_fe wow!Good for you Bill!!
November 26th, 2013
@streats I would love seeing a fox! We have them but they prefer more open land to this woodland setting.
November 26th, 2013
Great shot!!
November 26th, 2013
Fabulous capture. Must be both exciting and a little scary having bears on the property. Guess one has to be very diligent about not leaving foodstuffs that are easily accessed.
November 26th, 2013
Wow. What a capture!
November 26th, 2013
Oh my what a capture!
November 26th, 2013
From deer to bear drinking out of your bird bath. I love your bear captures, I imagine you have to be very careful going out in case you bump into them. Fav
November 26th, 2013
Great capture, it is wonderful seeing other people's environments. We don't have bears here.
November 26th, 2013
