For the Black and White photography bookclub. The last time I photographed a Stinkbug I processed it in very high contrast. This week, after reading the first chapters of the book, I experimented with less contrast.I liked the subtle reflection in the window.( It also works for my tags..Insect and Cold.)
I love the effect of lower contrast. I had trouble viewing the one with high contrast (my vision couldn't handle it!) It stinks that you have another opportunity to photograph a stink bug :/
Very nice macro, Hope! I have always thought all photos should be high contrast and sharp to be considered perfect, learning now that for some pics low contrast and softness is the way to go. I wish I have access to that book to join the photography club, black and white topic sounds too good.
