Cawsand beach is a popular swimming spot because it is so sheltered. The sea is warm and the beach is easy to get onto from the village square. There is parking about 3 minutes walk away. In summer it can get quite crowded as it is only a little beach. Today I found it relatively quiet because it is the first grey day for a while.

@swilde - this is a very shetered cove. There are only three or four storms which blow on this beach each year. The prevailing wind in the UK is from the SW. South West is at my back as I take this picture and the very steep high hills behind the village direct the wind over the top of the village/beach area. The other pictures of wide sweeping bays (Whitsand and Rame Head) face the SW almost directly and they get a very heavy pounding and have breakers almost all year around. (See the other pictures of the last few days).
When the tide is out the pebbles are patchy. There is a lot of sand on the beach and the tide goes out quite a way.
