Have you written an article on the use of in camera flash? I couldn't see it - an ongoing issue in a huge church is people using their cameras on Auto and the flash going off, which is distracting to the service and very ineffective, the building is too big. When I've been there I've helped people reset their cameras, but far too many people don't know how to turn the flash off.
Love the path winding through the shot- yeah!
Beautiful muted colours too. Yorkshire? The Lakes? Either way, it catches the brooding atmosphere you often get in both areas.
@shannew - yes, the Lakes.
Re: the flash article, I have covered on-board flash a bit:
Does Pop-Up Flash Ruin Your Shots? http://www.photokonnexion.com/?p=2596
However, I did not cover controlling the on-board flash. If you have some ideas about what to put in a post about controlling flash I will write something up... Happy to put a link to your posts too if you tell me what link to put up.
Thnx.
I think the problem people don't understand is that flash only lights the foreground, so fine for infilling fine details in the foreground, macro night shots (or under the bath) although it's still very harsh without diffusing it, but if you're covering a scene / party / concert / church service / outside event at night - it's going to light up where you are and give you bleached out lighting in that area and nothing in the area you'd like to see. I guess the problem is that so many people are starting with a lot less knowledge and in phone cameras means anyone thinks they can take pictures
@shannew - yes, you are right about the light and coverage and the limited knowledge. My site is about helping people in that situation. So I will think on your words and come up with an article. Thanks.
