Cedar by netkonnexion

Cedar

I came across this most amazing tree. I think it was a cedar tree. The lower trunk was twisted and bent and had all sorts of protrusions on it. Then, suddenly, at shoulder height, it turned into two perfectly normal and upright trunks. Amazing.

Gorgeous tree and great pof! Wonder how the growth of that tree came about, but it's amazing! It's a beauty and so are the surroundings and love the fence!

I don't think it's a cedar tree...it has deciduous not evergreen leaves...nice find.... where did you photograph it.?

@maggotx - actually the picture is misleading. There is a very small tree behind the cedar that is the deciduous one and that is the leaves you can see. On the top extreme right of the picture you can see the darker, needle like leaves which are the foliage belonging to this tree. They only just hang down to that level. The trunk was so interesting that I did not bother to catch the foliage. Unfortunately I missed that until I got home. Sorry.

love the twisted trunk. we have ten acres of cedar - we get a lot of wild life that likes the wetness.

Really good and interesting shot.

Great capture. Is it the same tree? I've seen twice where seeds will take root in the notch of another tree. If not, it almost looks like someone tried to cut it down; and it started growing back.
