Identify This No 87 was not obvious, I thought. And so it seemed... It was the top right hand side (positive) end of an AA and AAA interchangable battery charger. Got it now?

Looks like a hook on a ladies' suspender belt to me too.

Could be a shirt stay (or whatever you call them). I had some at one point; they attach to the shirt tails and then to the socks... Was never sure if they were more to keep the socks up or to keep the shirt tails tucked in. ;-)
