Well, in ID This 96 you saw an Art-Deco chrome toothbrush holder.

Two correct answers... Well one and a half since Scooter unfortunately decided wrong in the end... Read the detail below.

Honorable mentions...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sara's Dad - umbrella stand' Net says:-->> Oooops! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yaahy!
scooter - Going umbrella stand as well but at first it reminded me of a toothbrush holder. Net says:-->> Ah ha! Should have stuck with the Toothbrush thingy! LOL
Amanda F. - Cue stand. Net says:-->> Interesting idea. Plausable, but wrong scale... unless they were Lilliputlian cues. LOL
Paula Cook-Farkas - Pffftttthhh to the umbrella stand! I say it's Art Deco! Net says:-->> Excellent deduction! But the 'style' is not the same as the 'object'. Good effort tho'.
Rick Schies - It's an awesome set of brass knuckles that packs a wallop, no seriously, an umbrella stand. Net says:-->> Dropped out on the umberella stand! But got the Doohicky Award for the Knuckle-duster... LOL. Like that! Yeeeeehaaaaaaghooo!!
Paula Brumbe well if you are only ten inches away and need know time keeper, I say this is a giant toothpick holder for when you need to quickly grab a few to keep your eyes open. :) Net says:-->> I love the idea of the Giant Toothpick holder. Definately a Doohicky Award! Yeeeehaaaa!
Diana Horn - You have the most interesting "gadgets" I have ever seen. I cannot even venture a guess for most of them. Keep them guessing. Net says:-->> Why thank you! I don't think anyone has said such a nice thing as that before... LOL. Cool!!!
Alison Bailey - At first glance it looked like a pipe rack then I noticed it was standing on the floor, so yes, a stand for umbrellas and walking sticks and maybe even shooting sticks if you own them. Tee hee, wrong on all counts. Actually I have to use a walking stick and have a shooting stick, but this is a toothbrush holder. It would make my sticks fall over. Besides I would get grit in my toothbrush! LOL. I love the pipe rack idea. a "Doohicky Award!" Yahaaaahooo!
Sue Wilde - This is def just a very good pic... Net says:-->> Thank you [preen preen]. But what is it... LOL.
Lesley Barber - Toothbrush holder?! Net says:-->> Hoooorayyyyy! Correct! LOL. Great effort well rewarded. Nice one.
Interesting answers tonight, thanks for dropping by, See the next picture before you go to bed tonight!
Well, to continue with my medieval tortuous devices theme, I'd say this is a classic tongue clipper...which maybe later got downgraded to nail clippers.
ah, this is the tool that I use to ensure that my shoes fit correctly, sometimes if a person forgets to use them, their toes start having mass bleeding from being cut by seven inch toenails. A nail clipper. (and have no worries, I keep my toenails tightly trimmed with no extra length.
