And for over / under exposure week in the flash-o-red theme set by @olivetreeann - a month of black and white with a spot of red on the 14th... although this one confounds me... i shot low-key, then boosted exposure in LR, then used the nik silver efex overexposed preset - so i no longer have any clue where i stand with this... http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/16115/flash-of-red-february
Tx all for the nice comments on my over-exposed building from yesterday...
I should have shot my shot today in B&W, look at how dramatic you made a shroom look with your awesome lighting. btw, that shroom looks verrrry suspect, where did you get that anyways?....
LOL! I have been thinking a lot about the whole low key under exposed thing myself, I think I like low key effects better than under exposed, but this shot has all it all going on!! great job on all the challenges!
What a super shot!!! This is low key in my opinion. You have a good amount of it darker and underexposed. In my mentoring class, I think she thinks of low key as 60+% is dark (I think that's what she said... ) I find too that if I shoot underexposed I usually end up pushing the exposure back up a bit in editing... I like how the light in your shot has really brought out those textures.
What about where the really bright, kinda shiny bit is... if you used the adjustment brush in LR and just brought down the exposure a tad around that area to make it blend more to the surrounds?
@ozziehoffy tx Cassandra! Your point about bringing down the light in that bit is exactly what I am talking about... It is the only true white there and I have a hard time wrapping my mind around losing that...
