On the way back from the Post Office this afternoon I wandered down to the beach and spotted this rather dramatic cloud. It was such a surprise because the weather was warm and sunny until I saw this. It seemed to pass in the distance though and any rain has missed us altogether.
Great shot, Babs. Wish I had a view like that on the way back from the post office ... burtwe do have quite a nice tidal river here, and the North Sea is just a short bus ride away..
@steampowered That's just what I thought Paul. As I got to the beach I just didn't expect to see just the one black cloud and the crepuscular rays.
A friend (Nicki @winnedreamer) took a photo of anti crepuscular rays on her way home one evening and showed them to my husband to ask what they were. He was so jealous because he has never got a shot of anti crepuscular rays.
@gypsy6 There is a IOT in the distance, but you can't actually see it very well on this shot. I did think of you when I took it. I thought to myself 'Oh There's a IOT"!!!
@brennan1983 Indeed it was quite a wow moment for me. @marie65 Thanks Marie. @rhos It was amazing. It was a warm sunny day and as I walked to the beach there was just this one cloud with the silver lining. A very emotional moment! @turning_40 Thanks Janelle. I'd had a bit of an emotional day and the silver lining was just what I needed.

Never thought to look behind me!
