80 kph sunset by onewing

80 kph sunset

I know this is a bit out of focus, but there is a reason for that. We were on our way to Maitland last night and set off just as the sun was setting.

In the one hour journey the sky changed colours so many times as the sun set and it was amazing.

I took this photo from the car, through the windscreen, as we were travelling at 80 km per hour along Nelson Bay Road. I perhaps need to add at this point that I was not the one driving.

The sun shining through the trees made it look as though the trees were on fire and I don't think I have given the scene the full justice it deserves, but it was the best I could get under the circumstances on a bumpy road!!!

Glad to hear you weren't driving and under the circumstances all looks good.

I was on the bus on my way home at the same time, it was a very unusual sunset you've captured it so well especially at 80k along Nelson Bay Road.

@joluise @dekky740 @elaine55 @havrotb Thanks so much for your comments. In the one hour it took to drive to Maitland the sky changed colour so many times, it was amazing. Perhaps I should have videoed it!!!

Deb
hi its Kayley speaking, just wondering if 80kph makes it hard to take pictures
June 19th, 2013
@gypsy6 Absolutely Kayley. It was on a very bumpy bit of the road too. So my camera was bouncing up and down in my hand!!!

Love this...I have album titled "windshield photography" as sometimes that's all you can do when you see something great like this. Some of my best shots have actually been "windshield, drive-by, stop light or passenger seat" photos.

Glad to have seen it but glad you weren't driving!

@eyesmile Thanks Gena. I always have my camera in the car just in case a shot comes into view. It really was an amazing sight. In the one hour journey the sky changed colour so many times. It was beautiful.

@angelar Glad I got it too. I know it was a bit blurred, but trying to get a shot at 80km without houses or other buildings in the was was difficult.
