Yesterday Nicki and I went for a walk along the waterfront taking photos. Nicki took a photo of some yellow pigface flowers. Her daughter thought that pigface only had purple flowers like in the front of this photo. So today Nic and I went back along the waterfront and took some cuttings of both purple and yellow pigface plants to put in pots for her daughter. The plant grows wild along the beach and in the rocks, so hopefully the cuttings will grow.
This photo is take just by where I took the photo on the 3 August of the old and new houses and this is the view out in the bay from those houses. You can see The Heads in the distance - Yacaaba and Tomaree and out through the heads is the open ocean.
And nicki has said she will grow some for me too!!! As I only thought they came in pink. So now you have to come down some time soon to deliver them!!!
I love this sky - the way the tranquility in the foreground of the sky leads to the more dramatic sky just above the coastline in the background. It really draws the eye to it. Great shot.
@yaorenliu Yes it must be nice to wake up to this view, but the down side with some of these houses is that there is a path riight in front of their houses, so no privacy. I prefer our house, just 400 metres from the beach and nobody walking in your front garden every day.
@gypsy6 I've got some cuttings for you. When we brought them back we put them in pots at our house and Nic took hers home. I've kept a purple one and a yellow one for you. If it doesn't take we will have to go back and pinch some more.
@tryingforsighs Thanks Rachel. It is a beautiful place to live. I am not moving anywhere else now. Pigface is an unfortunate name for a flower. If you check out my photo on the 13 August you will see what it looks like close up. Don't know how its unfortunate name came about though.
@angelat Thanks Angela. Yes a very beautiful day. Just right for the begining of Spring. Nicki @winnedreamer and I went out to pinch some pigface plants from the waterfront. If you check out her site you will see me digging it up.
