Jacaranda by onewing

Jacaranda

We are having a lazy day today. The last week has been pretty busy showing Anita around and doing the 'tourist' bit with her, so today we have had a relaxing day.

The jacaranda trees are flowering at the moment and this is one at the bottom of our road.

Jacaranda is one of my favourite trees. I will definitely be going for a drive next weekend to Corowa. They have so many jacarandas. Have always known it as the town of jacarandas. Beautiful

What an amazing colour this tree is. Gad you are having such a great time with your sister, must be so nice to catch up. Hope the fires aren't too close, saw it on the news this evening and it looks pretty bad.

I do love the jacaranda's, they make a great show when the flowers drop and make a purple carpet.

@gerry @savannah51@dekky740 @steampowered @yaorenliu @winnedreamer @friend2303 @gamelee @lafish Thanks so much for your lovely comments. so busy at the moment with Anita here that I haven't got time to catch up with your photos too often. Hope you understand.

@heidihp @smiffy37 No I don't think they will grow in the UK. don't ever remember seeing one there. I think the winters over in the UK would kill them off.

@eyesmile It is spring here Gena, we are in the southern hemisphere.

@paulaw Thankks Paula. We have had two fires which were pretty close, one at Fingal Bay and the other at Raymond Terrace. We drove through the burnt out bush yesterday when we went to Raymond Terrace. Luckily we aren't near the ones in the Blue Mountains, they are about 200 km from here.
