Eastern Rosella

Wasn't sure what I was going to do for a photo for today and then a few minutes ago this Eastern Rosella landed on the seeds in our garden.

I haven't been able to get a decent shot of one ever, because they are so shy and as soon as I point a camera at them they fly off. So this is the best I could do. At least I managed to get it with a seed in its beak.

I didn't manage to get too long to take this photo though because the bossy rainbow lorikeet came along and scared this chap off.

@jackie8 This is the first time I have got a photo of a rosella. They are so shy. Most of the birds who come to our garden as so tame, but not this one.

Great capture. I've seen plenty of Crimson Rosellas but not one of these. You did a great job.
