My Mum always used to say "Don't play with your food", but I obviously didn't listen, because today I had another go at dipping fruit in soda water to see the bubbles appear.
I've had a whole day at home today with no interruptions from anywhere and it has been great. Just had a play day.
Fav! I've had some frustrating experiences with water photograohy and know how long these set ups/lighting take to orchestrate! Love all the bright colours!
love the lighting on the green stem and you got loads of bubbles! I've also had a go at these shots, you can lose hours in a day setting these up, fav:)
Thank you all so much I can't believe that this has got on the Trending Page. Thanks too for the fav's. I apologise for the group reply, but I have got such a busy day today. I have got grocery shopping to do this morning, the supplies are getting low. I've also got to rob the bank and pay some bills. Then I must get my hair trimmed because I can't see through my fringe and this afternoon I have got a medical appointment . That lot should get rid of the money I take out of the bank! At least I am recycling it.
This pic wasn't as difficult to set up as it looks. I think I did it on the cheap though. I bought a small rectangular vase from Kmart. Put it on the worktop in the kitchen, filled it with soda water, set up an angle poise lamp to the right of the vase to side light it. Set up the camera on a tripod, then realized that you could see the oven and cupboards in the background so set up a piece of blue paper behind the vase. I skewered the strawberry with a wooden kebab skewer, dipped it in the soda water and click. Photoshopped the skewer out later.
Off to do the shopping now, must put strawberries on the list.
PS You need a wet cloth to wipe your fingers though because it gets a bit sticky doing this.
PPS Quite a few strawberries were seriously injured and mutilated in the making of this photo.
Did it taste good afterwards? Try champers? Love the shot Babs, lucky you to have a whole uninterrupted day at home. Oh joy, oh happiness. I've been flat out for over a week, and hanging out for home time.
@eyesmile Thanks Gena. and thanks for the fav. I did have a good day. Really needed it too. It helped to recharge. Got a bit of emotional stuff going on at the moment. Always going to be ups and downs aren't there.
@princessm It didn't take long to set up. I had the vase I had the lamp and I had the paper and strawberries. I think it took about half an hour all together and it was fun to do too.
@golftragic Thanks Marnie. Yes it did taste good afterwards along with a few of his friends and some ice cream!! I had a lovely day, just what I needed. Such a hectic week last week and another hectic one this week too.
A fantastic food image! A FAV! I love the lighting, the colors, the bubbles, the composition, and the fun of it! Delighted to hear you had a great day!
@sjodell@mattie123@sunraye@cathy366@paulaw Another group reply sorry. Thanks so much and thanks for the fav's. Just off to the dentist now. Ugh! Only for a check up though, hopefully!
