It is a Bank Holiday long weekend here in Australia and as usual on this weekend in June there is a Blue Water Festival in Nelson Bay and every year it pours with rain. Perhaps they should re-name it the Rain Water Festival.
The sun did shine briefly this morning and I was planning on going into Nelson Bay to take some photos. The rain is back again though so I have decided to stay at home with the wood burner fire lit, cosy and warm.
Consequently, this is another photo from our trip to Sydney. This building is the Australian Steamship Navigation Company building and is one of my favourite buildings at The Rocks in Sydney. So much history in this area.
Last month in my b&w theme I took a photo of the back of this building showing the fire escape.
I wanted to add a bit of atmosphere to this photo so set up my tripod, focused on the red car and took a slow exposure shot to give the feeling of ghosts, as I am sure there are a few of them floating about at The Rocks.
Wonderful capture of a stately old building, we have just arrived at our property at Stanthorpe and it is raining lightly, maybe some cold weather ahead :-)
Love the movement in this Babs.........as you know I'm a huge fan of The Rocks and you have done a beautiful job here of capturing the emotion in these historical buildings :)
@gigiflower Thanks Sam. I just love The Rocks too, it is my favourite place in Sydney. The hotel we stayed at used to be the old nurses accommodation back in the early days of The Rocks. Just love all the history there which is why I wanted to create the ghosts.
Such a beautiful capture of movement here Babs and we fared the same weather down here too! So, mind if I come over and share that fire with you? Sounds just about amazing right now! :)
@golftragic@annied thanks so much. I am sure there are lots of ghosts around The Rocks. We stayed at the hotel which was previously the nurses accommodation in the early days. didn't come across any ghosts there though. Thanks for the fav too Annie.
