End of the line by onewing

End of the line

I have had a bit of a busy day today and no time to take photos, so this is another one for the 31 days of rust theme, which I took at Stockton a couple of days ago. This is near where the wreck is, but not sure if it was used as a rail line or a boat ramp. It leads to the Hunter River, but I don't think this line has been used for a while.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my recent photos and for my 3D orb, rust photo yesterday. With your help it got onto the Trending Page.

I won't be able to catch up tonight as it is David's birthday today and we are off out with friends this evening.

That is looking so decrepit & old it's almost dropping to bits! I expect the sea water has helped it on its way...great rust theme photo Babs.

Fantastic shot. Need to be careful when following those tracks! Happy Birthday to David. :)

Sorry to spoil everyone's train stories, but I would think this is the rails of an old slipway. A trolley runs on them to bring boats out of the water using a steel wire rope attached to a winch. The rope is unwound again to relaunch the boat.

no kidding it is the end of the line. I really like this

It was low tide on the river and I only got my feet a bit wet, but they were pretty muddy though. Andrew @tomtom had the answer as to what this was used for. This is what he said:

Thank you Andrew. We always learn something on 365.
