A blast from the past

This is something you don't very often see these days. a real blast from the past. This is on the main street in Morpeth but I don't know if it is in working order any more. I imagine that most youngsters wouldn't even be able to operate a public telephone and many wouldn't even know what it is.

We don't very often see public telephone boxes in Australia any more.

Most of our telephone boxes are now steel and plastic. You don't often see the good old fashioned red ones.

Wow, you really don't see these anymore. The mobile phone was the death of boxes like these.

I'm old enough to remember the old red phone boxes. They used to be everywhere up until about the early 70's!

@creampuff You don't see many telephone boxes here either these days. They are not even boxes now. Just like a plastic bubble attached to a wall with a phone in it.
This is a real blast from the past. Mind you Morpeth is a bit put your clock back 50 years normally.
