Mosaic collage by onewing

Mosaic collage

It has been a very dull wet day today and we have been in Newcastle all day.

Every time we go to Newcastle we pass this mosaic at Mayfield and today I decided to stop and take photos of it.

I know you can't see all the detail on it, but it is so interesting. It depicts the history of Mayfield.

Today's topic photo - flora

Great collage Babs. The good thing about 365 is that we stop and look at things like this instead of passing them by.

@bugsy Thanks Heather, I have passed this almost every time we go to Newcastle and this is the first time I have stopped and had a closer look.

It's good being back on the medication isn't it. Fabulous when it kicks in. ha ha.

This is such a smart way to convey the details. One shot could not have done it. I find the color and the curves really intriguing.

A wonderful creative mosaic. Looks like children were involved in the creation. Love it when they do that! Very colorful!

@karlow75 Too true Kane. I have seen this for years and this is the first time I have stopped to take a close look at it. It is really interesting.

@chimfa It is in Mayfield.

@scarybird The key shape of the mosaic is significant of the key to the city I believe. It shows the history of Mayfield and people from the local community contributed to it.

@happypat Yes there is a lot to read and so interesting. I can't believe I haven't stopped before to take a closer look at it.

@thistle @888rachel @angelar @hermann @flyrobin @lan @darthkitty @derekvickers @taffy @ceilidh @bkbinthecity Thanks everyone, 365 really makes us stop and look at things more closely.

@kathiecb It is indeed the key to the city. Members of the local community each made a tile showing the history of Mayfield and also their personal story.

@eyesmile Thanks Gena, it is so interesting to see. I can't believe I have driven past it so many times and not stopped.
One of the tiles shows a drawing of a baby bump and says "Waiting for Matilda or Freddy" I wonder which she had.
