After days and days of sunshine, high temperatures and humidity, last night we had a terrific electrical storm - thunder, lightning, wind, hail, the full works. The only thing missing was someone playing Phantom of the Opera on an organ, it was so dramatic.
Today though the temperatures have plummeted and it is an almost cold 23 degrees C with rain showers. I suspect that the Australia Day celebrations in Nelson Bay will be a bit of a fizzer, so here is a collage, for Australia Day, of photos which I have previously posted. Happy Australia Day.
Super collage for Australia Day, each image icons of OZ beautifully captured, top left is this Uncle Max Eulo's apprentice he seems to be sat along the same wall near the Manley Ferry, Happy Australia Day to you all down under:)
@pcoulson Thanks Peter and yet it is. Uncle Max Eulo was on the news tonight on tv performing the smoking ceremony for Australia Day. They always dig him out for that performance, ha ha. Must be the only one in NSW who can do the job.
@princessm Thanks Decima, no not all at Nelson Bay. The top one was taken in Nelson Bay and was the banner above the stage for the celebrations. The top left of the Aboriginal chap was taken at Circular Quay in Sydney. The centre top of the couple with the flags was in Nelson Bay, the top right of the koala was taken at Soldiers Point as this little chap was crossing the road. The bottom left of the kangaroos was at Oakvale Farm, the bottom centre was taken at our local beach and the bottom right of the emu was taken at Blackbutt Reserve in Newcastle.
@sioux Where will you be coming to in Australia Sue. I hope it is somewhere north because it will be chilly in the middle of winter if you are south of Queensland.
@paulaw Thanks Paula. It was raining and a bit chilly for summer, but had a lovely day at home. I am tracing family history so am pretty tied up with that at the moment, when I am home that is. ha ha.
@derekvickers Thanks Derek, but I know my roots. I am tracing my family history and am in the middle of writing up a story for my sister and myself at the moment.
The last time I was in the UK was in 1994 and it was a bit of a shock to the system. Freezing cold in springtime. Never felt the need to go back again.
I have moved house 16 times, lived all over the UK and lived in 3 different countries too so home is where I am living at the time to me.

We also had a crazy storm that same night but it is still so damn hot here!
