After showing the frontage of Dunedin Station yesterday I thought I would show you what the platform looks like.
The building itself is magnificent and I was rather surprised to find only two rail lines. Maybe there could have been more platforms and lines originally, I don't know the answer to that one, but it seems such a shame that the line probably isn't used much these days.
I think it may only be used by freight and also the Taieri Gorge tourist train now. Perhaps somebody from New Zealand can answer that for me.
Wonderful Victorian structure Babs. It is a living showcase of the building skillsand the importance of rail transport to that past age. Love all that ironwork, it's quite similar to the same roofing structures at Geelong Station. I'll bet your other half enjoyed the station even more than you did.
@golftragic Thanks Marnie, I thought that too of the ironwork being similar to Geelong Station and many others of that era too I suppose.
We both enjoyed the station, but for different reasons. Luckily we both take totally different types of photos.

Sorry for the group reply again, but I have had no computer access today as I have just completed one of my current projects which is to put together a photobook of my 365 photos from last year. Today I have been uploading it ready for printing.
Another project of ours is completed too and that is our bedroom has been spring or rather summer cleaned, everything back in place and the new bed installed. On to the next project now.
