Historic Newcastle. by onewing

Historic Newcastle.

I just love some of the old houses in Newcastle. I have no idea if these are now single residences or sectioned off into apartments, but I do know they are quite expensive.

Another busy day here so haven't been able to catch up with 365, will try and catch up this evening with some of your photos.

We were at a short film festival in our library this morning then trivia quiz and lunch in the community centre and this afternoon I had a medical appointment.

Don't tell anyone, but I think I have got a whole day at home tomorrow.

PS I have just Googled these houses and discovered that the pink house in the picture is a complete house and not apartments and it sold last year for $840,000. It needs a lot of work on it though. Not quite as classy on the inside as its immediate neighbours.
Interesting and attractive architecture Babs. Enjoy your quiet day tomorrow :)

@pcoulson Interesting link Peter. There are some in Newcastle similar to the ones in the link, here is one of them that I have photographed before. It was up for sale again this year and as we passed it the other day it has a sold sign outside. http://www.domain.com.au/31-parnell-place-newcastle-east-nsw-2300-2012493099

Wow - these houses are quite something. Im glad I waited to see them on my large screen before commenting. The colours of a british seaside town, but the style I have not seen anywhere else - and certainly not our Newcastle!

I just Googled Newcastle- "Australia's most underrated city."Sydney has similar buildings too I think. A touch of Europe with southern modifications.

Love the three stories! Melbourne and Sydney mostly have one or two.
