On my way home this afternoon I stopped off in Nelson Bay to get some photos of the whale tail sculptures at the marina.
I tried to take photos of them on Sunday when we were in Nelson Bay with friends, but there were too many people wandering around.
As you can see it is a very grey day today so I thought I stood a good chance of capturing the tails with nobody in the picture and I was right.
The first two sculptures have a jar of chalk next to them so that kids can colour in the tails with chalk. Because it poured with rain yesterday most of the chalk has washed off.
Very interesting artistic works beautifully captured and presented Babs, how long have they been there? lovely idea to have the chalks there I would have to have a go at a little selective colouring, lol:)
You made a lovely collage of these whale tail sculptures Babs. I love the fact that kids can chalk them too - I like interactive artwork like that. I read the link, very interesting but I see they are only temporary exhibits though.
@stephanies Thanks Stephanie. I am not sure where they go when they have finished their time here. The sculptures at the marina change quite regularly.
Here is the story.
