Welcome Swallow by onewing

Welcome Swallow

There were quite a lot of Welcome Swallows at the marina and this baby looks as though it has not long left the nest. Its Mum and Dad were flying around collecting insects to feed it.
You did well to capture it still.. they are busy little fellows..

Maggie's greatest pleasure in life (apart from dinner) is chasing swallows. The swallows swoop and dive and never come near enough to be in danger so we encourage her, great exercise.

Chubby little thing. Mum and dad must have been pretty good at insect hunting.
January 8th, 2017
Just googled what is the difference between sparrow and a swallow. Swallow seems a lot smarter.

@julzmaioro They are indeed Julia, but this little chap was only a youngster. You should have seen his Mum and Dad flying around catching insects to feet him.

Thanks, Welcome Swallows are native to Australia.

@golftragic I bet Maggie has lots of fun. She would have to be quick to catch one of these blighters, I had a struggle. Luckily I managed to see this youngster, he was just waiting for Mum and Dad to feed him.
