Historic Maitland

I thought I would post a collage of some of the lovely historic houses in Maitland to show that not all the buildings in this country town are in such a dilapidated state as shown in my half and half photos.

There are some lovely old buildings in this area and here are a few of them.

The top right house was once the East Maitland Post Office and is now a private home, as are the other photos in this collage.

There are lots of lovely buildings in Australia, especially in old country towns.

@pamknowler Houses with verandas are very popular out here especially with old buildings.

@ludwigsdiana Some areas of our Maitland aren't too good either but others are beautiful.

@happypat We aren't short of space in most places in Australia. The majority of our houses have lots of space around them. It is only in places like Sydney where houses are crammed together.

@olivetreeann yes the porches are used. A lot of our houses have verandas liked this and are a lovely place to sit in the evening.
