Half and Half 4 by onewing

Half and Half 4

This is my final half and half for now.

This rather dilapidated building is one of the sheds close to the market. I think it is or was used for keeping pigeons as there is a sign on the wall of the building.

Some of the old buildings next to the market and racetrack are only used for storage of some kind which is why they are in a rather sorry state of repair.

Not all the buildings in this area are in this state and tomorrow I will post a collage of some of the gorgeous old houses in this town.

Maitland is a very old town and has lots of history.
Well spotted Babs.

Certainly looks like a pigeon house. Love the symmetry and the character of it.

this could be a half half either way! A great find and shot.
May 9th, 2019
Lovely find and shot. Old buildings have much more character than the concrete blocks they are building nowadays.

It certainly looks in need of some TLC :)

It looks like a puff of wind might blow the front in. A building full of character though.

Ooh dear - it has seen better days , not much needed to push it over I should think ! but great find for the theme !

Super dilapidated half and half!
May 9th, 2019
Great shot for the theme. Lots of details to look at.

Glove the netting across the openings....what was kept in there we wonder...pigeons sound perfect!

Black and white treatment works well for this great dilapidated building. Nice find for half-half.
May 9th, 2019
love it.
May 9th, 2019

May 9th, 2019

May 9th, 2019
Great Fav. shot and a beautiful end of this nice series.
May 9th, 2019
Terrific :)

Nice half and half shot- I love old run-down buildings like this. The broken or missing windows, peeling paint and slanted slats really make a for a great composition.
May 9th, 2019
Would be a mirror image but for the greater state of dilapidation on one side. A fine shot.

Do you think you’ll really be able to stop seeing half and half possibilities before the month is over? Great symmetry and b and w conversion

I think the pigeons that live in there seem to be happy and at least the roof looked quite sound with no holes in it.

I think the pigeons must be very smart though because there was a sign outside that said PIGEONS and an arrow to the door. I wonder if the pigeons can read!

@jgpittenger Yes I think I will be able to stop seeing half and half possibilities, at least in the short term. I find it difficult to do a whole month of one theme as I tend to get a bit bored with it.

Love the weathered look of this!

You have had some wonderful contributions to the half and half challenge, and this is no exception! Great find and nicely captured.
