On our way home from Tocal recently we stopped off at Hinton to take a couple of photos of the bridge.
I just loved the reflections of the house on the water.
Water levels are pretty low at present because we are very short on rain, but Hinton is very low lying land and it frequently floods after torrential downpours.
@gamelee Not too safe at all I should imagine. Hinton floods regularly during heavy rain and the road in and out of Hinton is often blocked. The last serious flood though that flooded houses was in 2007. We have been in drought in NSW for the last few years though so no serious rainfall for some time.
@maggiemae I have taken photos of this bridge before, but I couldn't get the circles any straighter this time because the riverbank was very overgrown and difficult to walk along this section. I was standing on a tiny platform with no safety rail to get this picture and any further to the right and I would have been in the water.
It's an interesting scene with the soft reflection and the hard cement pilings of the bridge. Usually in August our rivers and creeks will look low like this too- but not this year. We've had so much rain it floods in some places now with just the slightest rainfall!
@tunia ha ha, I really had to watch my footing, it would have been so easy to slide into the water.
@olivetreeann This winter has been so dry here, I can't help feeling we are going to be in for a rough bushfire season when Spring starts in September.
