When I was looking for trees to turn into my etsooi photos over the last couple of days, I thought I would turn some of the tree pictures into an orb and this is the result.
I was going to have a day at home today, but that didn't happen. I went to visit Elizabeth in the care home instead.
As some of you know my pal Elizabeth has Alzheimer's and her husband John died last year of a brain tumour.
I was also planning on going out with the walking group tomorrow, but I decided that I will take Elizabeth to the movies instead. She probably won't remember she has been, but at least she is there in the moment and I am sure she will enjoy the movie.
I had to visit her today to let the staff know that I will be booking her out for a couple of hours tomorrow afternoon. You have to let them know in advance in case they think she has been abducted, ha ha.
I like your choice of trees in the orb. So kind of you to spend time with your friend. Alzheimer's is a devastating disease and seems to affect so many. Wish there was a cure.
Fantastic job on this - it is lovely in B/W. Your friend is very fortunate to have you in her life. I know it has to be hard for you but bless you for caring as you do.
@sdutoit Yes Sylvia, I remember yoiur husband dying, so sad. Didn't kinow he had Alzheimer's though.
@sangwann@lynnz@photographycrazy@susiemc@louannwarren Thanks. Just got home. Elizabeth had a lovely afternoon. There were a few friends of ours also at the movie and we all went for a cuppa afterwards. She had a jolly time. I always try to make her laugh and she does seem to enjoy our outings. I have noticed that her memory is getting quite a lot worse now, but she is still there in the moment and she still knows who I am, so I will continue to take her out and also visit her in Regis for as long as she is able to communicate.
