You can see in yesterday's photo the size of the garage where the model railway is and I think the area is about 7 metres x 7 metres. I haven't done the railroad justice in these two collages but you get the general idea of how big it is.
Wow - what an amazing project. I'm behind in my viewing so missed yesterday's narrative. My eye went first to the photo at the upper righthand corner. I thought it was an aerial shot of real trains. Clearly David and Rob are doing a good job in making things look realistic.
What a impressive undertaking lovely collage Babs, each image beautifully captured, I never owned a train set was into Meccano, Airfix models and puzzles:)
I am amazed at all the work and detail in this project. Very well done to your husband and his friend for the magnificent job they are doing. And well done to you for taking these beautiful photos.
It looks incredibly detailed - a true work of art! We visited the 'largest model railway in the world' in Hamburg a couple of years ago. We spent the whole day there - incredible!
Awesome project- the upper left shot almost looks like real! The detail is quite amazing. I'm sure they're really proud of it. Is this in your home or Rob's?
That is a fabulous result of their project. In our retirement community we have a couple of those enthusiasts. One has a group that rents a shed and has built a replica of Truckee and the tunnels through the Sierras.

@casablanca I am sure you would have lots of fun. Next time you are in Australia you will have to come and play.
@pcoulson David was always model trains chap but with Meccano, airfix. woodworking and electronics thrown in as well.
@wakelys Oh believe me they would notice, even with a set up this size.
@busylady Yes the Hamburg model railway is magnificent. I think Rob and David have a way to go before theirs gets to that stage though, ha ha.
@kathiecb I don't think it will ever be completed, they always find more to do.
@bruni They do run the trains, but keep adding to the layout at the same time.
@olivetreeann It is at Rob's home. Our garage is full of woodworking equipment, electronics equipment and other odds and sods ha ha.
