First Day of Winter by onewing

First Day of Winter

Today is the first day of winter in Australia and the weather forecast said 18 degrees c, but it feels pretty chilly to me.

I think this photo sums up the weather today.

I have been out this afternoon and we are out for dinner tonight for the birthday celebration of a friend of mine, so I won't be able to catch up this evening.
Beautiful in its decay.

Love the shot of your decaying flower. I had to google to find out when winter starts here, on the 21st of June. It sure feels like winter already though.

Lovely textures. In our late spring, we only have 13 degrees.

@ludwigsdiana In Australia we work on the meteorological calendar and obviously in South Africa you work on the astronomical calendar which explains the different dates.

Lovely textures...
And weather-wise... I'm not looking forward to a lot of flying this summer, but do look forward to some cooler temperatures and rain - a strange wish for a holiday but... I dropped Yelena off this morning at 7.45am and my car said already 41C - It's been hot...

Lovely detail in this shot. Interesting that you find 18C chilly, while we find the 22C that we had yesterday quite hot!

Sorry for the group reply but I have been out all day today again. Like some of you said it does look rather like a wilting bird doesn't it.

@ingrid01 Thanks Ingrid. 41 degrees does get a bit draining doesn't it.

@nicolecampbell I don't think I could cope with -4.

@ladymagpie 26 c would be a pleasant day and only just getting warm for me.
