This is a close up of a juvenile female koel which decided to risk picking the fruit from my mystery bush which I posted on my other album a couple of days ago.
You will be able to see the same bird attempt to eat one of the fruits in my other album. I am pleased to say that it decided it was too much to eat in one go.
@elaine55 We tend to see the male koel's more than the females. The males are all black with a very red eye. They are about 45 cm from head to tail and I think are cuckoo family.
@sunraye Thanks Raye for the fav. I did manage to get close, probably about 1 and half metres away. She was very brave. More concerned about food than me taking photos. There was a male koel around too, but he wasn't as brave and I couldn't get a decent shot of him. The males are all black with a very red eye.
