Yesterday's animal photo was of a kangaroo at Oakvale Farm and today is a koala also taken at Oakvale Farm. I think there must be something in the air.
This chap looks a bit stoned. Maybe one or two too many eucalyptus leaves.
I think it was Billy Connolly who said that koalas were the hippies of the animal kingdom. I think he is right with this one.
Had another busy day today and this is how I feel this afternoon.
I am posting early because David needs to get on the computer to sort out yet another problem, probably caused during our huge storm a few weeks ago.
Even though we have power surge protectors etc on the computer the storm was so severe it still managed to cause damage to the desktop computer, yesterday had to get a new modem and now we think that the external hard drive which backs up all our documents etc is corrupt, so David has got to sort that one out tonight. At least it is keeping him off the streets ha ha.
@paulaw If you think this one looks uncomfortable check this one out http://365project.org/onewing/topics/2014-04-03
This one is in the wild and how it is managing to stay in the tree amazes me. I was waiting for the branch to snap. ha ha.
@savannah51 Thanks Sharon. Short fall for this one, he is at Oakvale Farm, but this one http://365project.org/onewing/topics/2014-04-03 would have a long fall. He is in the wild at Lemon Tree Passage and was way up high in a tree. He is huge and would land with quite a bang I should think.
@derekvickers Thanks Derek. He may be layed back at the moment, but in the wild they can be quite active during the evening and make a terrible noise when they are off on the razzle. The noise they make sounds a bit like a cross between a dog barking and a pig grunting.
@kathiecb Thanks Kathy. Not quite as big as the one last week which I took a photo of.
I think this one has had one too many eucalyptus leaves perhaps that is the answer.
Such a cute photo! I don't know if it's true but I heard once on TV that koalas eat eucalyptus leaves and the leaves make them high. That might explain this sleepy little guy.
