I think I said at the beginning of this month that my daughter Deb said "Mum is so not a flower person", but I have coped up till now. I have to admit I am beginning to get a bit bored with flowers, but as it is my monthly theme I will see it through to the end.
I only very occasionally post photos of flowers, so to do a whole month of them has been a bit difficult for me. I think this is the most difficult theme I have done since I started 365.
I have to admit that I do love geraniums though and this is one from our garden.
This is a beauty Babs -- a lovely pink double petalled flower and it does look just like a rose You have captured this beautifully and a great presentation FAV
@julzmaioro@chimfa@beryl Thank you all, I agree it does look like tiny roses, but trust me it is a geranium. I am not that well up on flowers, but I do recognise this one, only because it is growing in my garden though.
@thistle Thanks Joyce. We have got red geraniums in one part of our garden and they generally grow much better than these pink ones, but this year the pink geraniums have really picked up and look beautiful.
@annied Yep, definitely a geranium, you can tell by the leaves and the smell of cat pee from the distinctive smelling leaves too. ha ha.
They always remind me of Erimi Village in Cyprus where we lived for a while. The whole village only ever grew geraniums and jasmine a strange mixture of perfumes.
@pcoulson Thank you kind sir. I am definitely going to need therapy by the end of the month. I come originally from a mining town in Yorkshire so that could explain the lack of flowers. Not many flowers down't pit, ha ha. Mum loved flowers, but everything red she called salvia and my auntie only ever grew marigolds in her garden. Very limited.
@onewing well there you go hahaha - as I said I have not been up close and personal with geraniums for years - when I was a youngster they were everywhere
@gigiflower Thanks so much for the fav Sam. I used to get really bad hay fever when I was young, so flowers were always kept at a distance from me. By the time I had a series of injections to cure me in my 30s, flowers were just not part of my life by then.
And you have done so well at it. This is lovely and so different then ours. Great color and it is so nice for some us to see these lovely flowers this time of year.
@eyesmile@happypat Thanks so much. Yep definitely a geranium, I think you may just be able to make out the blur of the leaves. We have lots of red geraniums on one side of our garden, and this pink one is close to our patio. It hasn't done so well in recent years, but this year has flowered so much. Must have had more rain this year.
