I spotted these Christmas bells flowers while out for a short walk this afternoon. They are looking a bit on the limp side because it is very hot here today and so dry. They just seemed appropriate for my flora theme and also for Christmas too.
Happy Christmas to everyone, I have just got a few minutes to myself to download today's photo.
@eyesmile Thanks Gena. There have been very few Christmas Bells flowers in the bushland this year and when we were at a friends house on Christmas Eve for drinks and nibbles etc. she told me where this flower was. I had to check it out for my flora theme.
@888rachel ha ha. thanks Rachel, I am impressed too. I am over flowers now. Deb was right I am not really a flower person. I don't did this one for a bet.
@happypat Thanks Pat. It was pretty hot yesterday (Christmas Day) and in the evening we had a huge storm again. Getting a bit like the Northern Territory here these days. At least we got some decent rain with this storm. According to our rain gauge 27 mm. much needed.
@kathiecb Thanks Kathie, I believe they are another east coast of Australia flower. Haven't seen many this year. Quite a few got wiped out after bush fires. I believe the native name is Blandfordia nobilis but Christmas Bells is much easier to remember.
@princessm@onlyme111 Thanks so much. Have only seen 2 of these this year. Usually there are many more in the bushland. I think they got wiped out in bushfires.
@golftragic@gigiflower Thanks Marnie and Sam, we wandered around in the bush to find these on Christmas day afternoon. A friend told us where to find them.
