... with chalk. Not only the stones and slabs were covered, Sep and Roz too.
First photo of my first film roll (Kodak Tri-X), shot with the Olympus OM20, first two weeks of February this year. Had it developed mid March and only now, end of April, collected it from the store. In this pace I'll do four films a year :-)
I struggled a bit with the focus, so several photo's have the focus were I did not want it. Still pleased I tried and will definitely have a go again. I will upload more over the coming days. There is a bit of me that wants to do some post processing, but I will just upload the scans as they are.
How nice you are using this. There is a woman in my photography club that shoots film. She is very artistic. I never really did well with film. Only "snapshots". Many of them did not come out.
oh how i missed you , and so wonderful to see your film shots, i know the feeling of wanting to tweak! but we must reastrain ourselves unless there is something way out of whack and let the film speak for itself, its very lovely when you get used to it, although remember even ansel adams worked up his negatives at the printing stage until they fit his vision. that is some humungous chalk!
@beryl do you still have it? @brennieb thanks, it is certainly very different than digital. @randystreat have still lots to learn, would like to develop too at some point. @kali66 missed you too dear Kali and your inspiring work, it's just been so busy recently. Our neighbour gave them that chalk over Christmas, they love it. @happysnaps thank you Valerie @domenicododaro hiding in family life and work, it's quietened down a bit, so hopefully a little more focus on photography. New to film, but so far very interesting!
Good to see you back and good to see you using film. You have somewhere in Porthmadog that processes film? Maybe the light was low for this shot which makes focussing difficult ... if there is a distance scale on the lens you could estimate. But the lack of sharpness on the children somehow adds to the appeal, so just pretend it was deliberate! :-)

Leuke foto van de kids.
A beautiful and lovely film shot. To tweak or not, let the image lead the way. This one I say no, the softness gives it great innocence.
@joysabin thanks Joy! I like that thought, let the image lead the way...
