A chipmunk figured out how to get into one of the new bird feeders by climbing up the pole. Well, now the pole is greased. Hopefully this will keep him out. I did hate to tell him the seeds were not for him.
Saw this on the PP. Congrats - it's a great shot. Chipmunks are adorable and they are not as voracious as the squirrels. He should be happy with a few nuts of his own. I love these little ones.
Hello Junan! I saw this on the Top 20 (Congratulations. :D) and Faved it, but didn't have time to tell you hilarious, fun, and captivating this is. I LOVE Chipmunks, and I'm still trying to get some great shots of them. My guess is that greasing the pole helped not at all?? All my best, Les
@glimpses Thank you so very much! :D The Bear solved my chipmunk problem, I had to take all the bird feeders down until the bear is hibernating for the winter. No seeds for the birds or the chipmunks. :) Greasing the pole did work pretty well for a while. (I used vaseline)
A Bear?!!! Holy smokes! And I thought I had troubles with a greedy Woodchuck murdering my Garden. :D He's full grown, and eats 4-5 pounds of vegetation and produce a day..........3 guesses where THAT all comes from! Greasing the pole didn't work for Squirrels last year, but then, they are far more persistan and greedy.
Sorry you had to take down your feeders, but it sounds like the appropriate thing to do. (I have to remember to take mine in every night, otherwise, a Racoon empties them overnight. Bother!) My best to you, Les
