Bloom Where you are planted

Although this looks desert-like, it is more rain forest here, and these guys like to reach up searching through the undergrowth for a bit of light coming down through the fog and trees.

Or not, actually, don't know what the plant is but it is blooming at the grade-school anyway.
I like the coloring of this photo. Is that cracked cement or cracked earth?

FANTASTIC color, Dixie ... it does look like a desert. The flower even looks like a desert flower. Just amazing. Did it come out like this or did you edit/process the color in like this. Amazing what one can do. You did "fool my eye!" :)

@karenann I took the picture in the black and white mode on my camera, but in iPhoto I pushed it to the yellow and magenta ends of the scale

Great warm tones! It does feel desert-like. Pretty flowers on very long stalks, well captured. 8)

this does have a desert-like feel, made more so by your choice of colour tone. it's like part of a deserted town. another excellent shot.
