This is Friday - So I have to find "Why I love being Me."
So Today, I love my Corner, with the kids books I had even before I was a Mom, to use in my teaching, and the quilt on the wall that my Grandma made for my crib when I was a baby, and the computer that I use to write my stories and letters and connect to friends and family and students and co-workers and strangers who will one day be friends. I also love that piece of paper on the wall which celebrates my first "NaNoWriMo" and since yesterday was November 1, NaNo began again, and I am entering its insanity and coffee soaked sleeplessness and permission to be selfishly insistent on time for my own creativity.
Na(tional) No(vel) Wri(ting) Mo (nth) is a November commitment to write at least a 50,000 word Novel in 30 days. Started by Chris Batty it has become an international movement with over 300,000 participants and other programs like "Script Frenzy" in April and CampNanoWriMo in the summer and a kids program for the schools to use.
Everyone has a book in them, and your first draft will be horrible whether it takes you 10 years or 30 days. It's not too late if you want to join the craze at NaNoWriMo.com
i like your corner too. i made a sun bonnet sue quilt for my granddaughter when she was a baby [age 5 now] . it's kind of similar to yours. it's great to have your own comfortable space, nice pic to show it off.
Wow! I love your corner and getting to know the you behind the camera. I guess I never read your info until now. Sometimes it's nice to slow down and get to know someone. I hope you do great this month. Sounds like your an ole pro. :-) Good luck. Nothing wrong with making time for yourself and connecting with that creative side. I plan to do that today myself :-)
nice little corner you got there, dixie. i didn't do the nanowrimo, i'm too coward to commit to the 1,600 words per day. but i should get my ass to write more.
