Nadine's Kids

Grandma and her daycare family.

Strange to see most of these kids at her funeral
Funerals are like that, awkward, emotional, sorrow bumping up against great memories and the surprised realization that even though you lost someone who mattered a great deal, you just re-found some other people who used to be important to you, and still are.
What a tribute to your mum for so many to come & remember her.

@happypat not my mum, but my family was 1300 miles away when my boys were in this picture, and Nadine adopted the whole family of each of her daycare kids, so as we stopped needing daycare we just kept hanging out together.

One of the comforting aspects of funerals to me is seeing how many lives were touched and shaped by the person and in that way they live on. This is especially true of people who worked with children. What an impact they make!
