While this shot is less than stellar, I thought it was a fitting beginning to my come back. It wasn't taken on Jan 1 though, because this location is sort of occupied with other things on New Year's Day. I made a point of driving through this intersection on my way to work New Year's Eve.
This is the corner of Orange Grove and Colorado Blvd in Pasadena, CA. It's where the TV cameras are set up for the broadcasting of The Rose Parade.
It always tickles me to see the crowds who show up the day before the parade to stake a claim to a patch of sidewalk.
I really feel for them this year, because Baby, it's COLD outside! I think the prediction is mid 30's. Brrrr!
My teeth chatter just thinking about it, and they're SLEEPING in it!
The folks who have bleacher seats don't show up until New Year's morning.
I'll be watching the parade from the comfort of my warm bed. I may even watch it through closed eyelids. LOL
This year's project will be more relaxed. I was making myself crazy and stressed trying for the "photo a day" thing.
I was happily surprised to see that when I upgraded my account to ACE (after letting it lapse) my secondary album was still in place. I was certain it would have been wiped clean.
So, I'm picking up my camera again and will do my best to be semi-regular with posting pics. Some will be fresh, some will be dragged from my stockpile that never got posted the first time around.
It feels good to be back. I DO like this place a lot. :-)
Happy New Year to you. Nice to have you back. I have been taking it easy too. So easy that I have started year three of being a part of 365 but only posted a little over 200 photos for the year. It is hard to post a photo a day and fun to bring in photos from the past too. Enjoy and welcome back. Love your photo by the way.
Right there with you about the parade too!
