No, they aren't tomatoes, but they do bear a resemblance of sorts. I recently learned from @burgo that this is pyracantha.

These can look quite stunning when seen en masse, covered in their striking berries. They are commonly called Firethorn here, and are a recognised weed, although plenty of people still grow them. They make a great windbreak. Very nice shot of these.
I think anything can be a 'weed' if you don't want it in your yard, but can't eradicate it.
Some weeds are much prettier than others. :-)
