This trail is about 2.5 miles from my house, and yet I don't come out here very often. Actually, I never knew this particular trail was even here, but I had seen a woman on a side trail nearby and decided to venture off the main path and soon discovered this tree-covered trail. As I was admiring the scene, a large leaf drifted down onto the path. Someday!...someday, I'll capture a leaf in mid-descent. ;-)
I like the way the framing turned out, with the trees and that lower shadow. Can't take credit though, it was just a happy accident that I discovered later. Now I'm wondering if I should have cropped a little off the bottom .
I like it as is. the curve of the tree is echoed so nicely in the shadow and if you had cropped it you would have lost that!
A falling leaf is very difficult to shoot because unless it is against something other than trees it just looks like a leaf because we can't see the movement in a photo! Try being in an area with a tree and lots of open space on a windy day or under a tree looking up into the sky as the leaves fall.
